Pathology

If your doctor recommends a blood or urine test, we have Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology on-site, staffed with skilled phlebotomists. In general, this service operates on a first-come, first-served basis, eliminating the need for appointments. You can proceed directly from your doctor's consultation to the test, unless fasting is required. There are two exceptions that require booking.

• 2 hour glucose tolerance test (2h GTT). This test takes 2 hours and the blood collectors have to ensure the test can be completed within their shift.
• NIPT (Non-invasive prenatal testing). This test is not medicare rebatable. You have to book and pay it first before the test can be performed.

This service is available from Monday to Friday between 8:00am to 11:00am. Outside of these hours Douglass Hanly Moir Eastwood Collection Centre at 13 Glen Street is open from Monday to Saturday with long hours. There are also other Pathology Collection rooms located nearby.
